Bird Island

“Bird Island” is an impressionistic oil painting created with a painting knife on a canvas measuring 24 x 48.  The artist’s intention was to replicate a scene which is located in the Malique Beach area of the South Texas National Seashore Park.  Bird Island is a popular wind surfing area and when the winds are low and the windsurfers are resting, it is an excellent area for wade fishing.  Louis created this impressionistic painting to replicate the beauty in color contrast between the sky and water and create a composition which can be interpreted in many ways by the viewer.

The painting is located in the Garcia Gallery in Corpus Christi where it is available for viewing and for purchase $5600.00
